After 15 years together my first car and loyal companion will be leaving me today. It is a 1994 Saturn SC2. After buying the GTI my plan was to donate the SC2, but a fellow Opponaut that lives nearby wants to give it a home. I’m super excited about that and also bummed that it will no longer be in my driveway. I’ll let the new owner make his own announcement. I just wanted to share a few pictures while I try keep my emotions in check.
Approximately 2005
2010ish, just after getting some fresh paint.
The Maaco paint job held up well for about 6 or 7 years and then the clear coat gave up.
Actual miles not shown. Estimated to be in the range of 225,000 - 250,000 miles. Still runs like a top.
Goodbye old friend. You will be dearly missed.

How many Quarts of oil did it burn per tank of gas? I had 2 Saturns a 95 and 97 they burned oil from new.

Not that much. Maybe a quart every 7 or 8 fill ups.

It would make a great rallycross or autocross car I think.

I think so. Plus the wheels and snow tires I still have from the RallyMetro would fit.

There’s actually a second SC2 on my street! There’s another first gen with popups in the same black as your’s (mine? Mine) was originally, but I haven't seen it move in a few weeks.

Perfect. It will have friends.
I have only seen that color a couple other cars . If you open the trunk lid you will see it. Black with gold flakes. Looked like brown in most lighting conditions .

ooh, I didn’t notice that.
I think the one down my street is just solid black. Was the black with gold flake factory or a previous Maaco job?

Black with gold flake was straight from the factory. Looked weird with the red Saturn badges. I swapped them for black badges.
I assume the rims were a dealer add on. And I’m glad it has those. The factory wheels don’t fill out the fenders.

Oh that would be a weird look. And while the 4 spoke hurricane looking factory ones are incredibly 90s, I'm glad it has the ones it does.
